Victorious Valentines, Petal Love, Fragrant Faith

Basically the youth managed to swing an excellent deal with a local greenhouse floral company. The were given the opportunity to get single carnations at 50 cents each, and roses at $1.50 (these were flowers that had already opened and probably would not have made it to market). The congregation could purchase a carnation for $1. or a Rose for $2. for their valentine or someone they just wanted to encourage.
If they wanted to have a special note attached, which was nothing more than an index card with an encouraging scripture, the sender's name, and the recipient's name (hand-printed by the children - and loaded with spelling errors which only added to it). For the tag, 25 cents was added to the cost - and of course no one wants to send a flower without a tag on it. The youth made a killing on it. All the flowers were delivered at church the Wednesday and Sunday before valentine's day.
The good thing is this is a money maker. The sad thing, well, there will always be some people who don't get a flower and will feel left out or rejected. We tried to send "secret sister/brother" flowers to those we realized were not getting flowers, but we missed some people.
Sorry I can't think of more details.... I'm getting old I guess. :-)
Anyway, best wishes and I sure hope this helps
