Simple Blessings Valentines Day Cards

by Karen

Every year I like to do some kind of creative project with the kids in my Sunday school class.

This year we decided to simple make cards for the child to give to a loved one. Saying simple sayings like "Jesus loves you and me" and "We are all loved by God," etc. Of course many children thought of their own parts of scriptures and things to say.

The children where asked to make them creative and colorful. Some choose to use lots of hearts others didn't. It was a great way for the children to keep busy and be creative. It also helped the children understand that Jesus is love. He did everything he could for us because he loves us. The children then repeat these lessons onto the cards they later share with their families.

After services the children where able to come back to the classroom and pick up their cards. It was a great and pleasant surprise to a lot of the adults. It gave the kids a way to open up a discussion with their parents and teach them what they have learned.

A simple project and lesson such as this can send across a simple but, oh so important, message, as one little girl put across her card? "GOD IS LOVE".

Recently she came back and told me her card is still on her refrigerator today.
