Circle Name Game
by Linda L

This game is a variation of the 'Stations' game
Children sit on chairs in a circle, except one who is standing in the middle. Introduce the game by going round the circle with each child saying their name to the group.
Then the teacher calls out two names. Those children swap seats and the one in the middle tries to sit down on one of those chairs. The child left in the middle is 'it' the next time.
If more than one child has the same name, it only adds to the fun. Add confusion by saying 'All the boys' or 'All the girls'.
Finish the game when all have had their name called at least once and interest is still high.
This game can also be played at Christmas by giving each child the name of a Christmas item - 'presents' 'manger' 'carols' etc. On the word 'Christmas' everybody changes chairs (they can't swap with the chair immediately next to them)
This game works well with children of all ages
