Collected Bible Teaching Songs

We have collected contributed bible teaching songs for you to use in your lessons. They are all here. We also have an article on teaching bible songs in the Sunday School classroom. If you have any songs to share with others, please contribute them.

I learned this song as a Sunday school student 30 years ago, and I still enjoy teaching it to students. contributed by: MFK, Arkansas

Joshua and his army at the walls of Jericho as they fall.

Here We Go Round the Jericho Wall

(to the tune of: Mulberry Bush)

Here we go round the Jericho wall
Jericho wall, Jericho wall
Here we go round the Jericho wall
Early in the morning

Additional Verses

2) This is the way we blow our horns
3) This is the way we quietly walk
4) This is the way we shout really loud
5) This is the way the walls fall down

I used to teach this song to young children to learn the story of Noah's Ark.
Lisa R., Former Sunday School Teacher

Good old Noah built an Ark

(to the tune of: Old MacDonald Had A Farm)

Good old Noah built an ark,
Like God told him to
And on that ark he took two (insert animal here),
Like God told him to,
With a (animal) here and a (animal) there,
Good old Noah built an ark,
Like God told him to.

Do as many verses as you'd like. At the end instead of singing

"Good old Noah built an ark, Like God told him to"

sing:

"And if you do what God says do, He will bless you, too."

I just wrote this. Feel free to add to it. It's intended to teach some of the language about Jesus in the new testament, particularly that he's the "fisher of men" and "the way, the truth and the light".

Jesus is the one we love

(to the tune of: Take Me Out to the Ballgame)

Jesus is the one we love,
He's the fisher of men--
He changes water into wine,
With Our Lord, we feel just fine--
Oh we'll root, root, root for the Savior,
If we don't win, that's okay,
Cause He's One Truth, and the Light
and He is the Way!

Jesus in My Heart

(to the tune of: Head and Shoulders)

I have Jesus in my heart,
In my heart, in my heart.
I have Jesus in my heart.
He's been there right from the start.

I will pray to Him each day,
Him each day, Him each day.
I will pray to Him each day.
He will hear the words I pray.

I will try hard to be good,
To be good, to be good.
I will try hard to be good,
And do the things I know I should!

Jonah and the Whale Song

(to the tune of "London Bridge")

God asked Jonah to obey
To obey,
to obey,
God asked Jonah to obey
But he said No.

(Shake head from side to side)

Jonah was swallowed by a whale
By a whale,
By a whale,
Jonah was swallowed by a whale.
Swallowed whole!

(rub tummy at the end)

Jonah prayed to God above
God above,
God above,
Jonah prayed to God above
And was forgiven!

(hold hands in prayer position at the end)
