A Christmas Performance
by Rebecca
This is the classical Christmas program for Sunday schools. Select a published Nativity play or - if someone in your Church has the skills - write your own play. Everybody in your Sunday school can take part.
Toddlers can play the parts of small angels, junior shepherds or even lambs. Older children will enjoy playing the more demanding parts. Teenagers and young adults might prefer the technical support roles or narrating the play. The play can be presented to all of your church members or just the parents of the children who attend your Sunday school.
If you would like to present a play, but feel that the classical Nativity play is not right for your group, consider another play that embodies the Christmas message. An example would be a play based on the book 'A Christmas Carol' by Charles Dickens. Preparing and performing this type of play is most suitable for older children, teenagers and young adults.
If you have strong musical skills or an active choir in your Sunday school, this can be a good basis for developing a Christmas program. Select a number of pieces that are suitable for the instruments and level of practice that is available. It would be nice if the music followed a Christmas theme. Playing music or singing can be suitable for school children of all ages.
